WAC Helps Client to Win Coveted CATEY Award

CATEYS award winners 2009


The Swan at West Malling won Best Independent Marketing Campaign for its Cynet award at the July 2009 CATEYS. The Cynet Award a high profile children’s cookery competition was conceived and executed by WAC PR and Marketing which won first place at the awards ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on July 7th.

Steven Jones director of WAC said “We are delighted to have played such a major part in helping the Swan at West Malling win such a coveted award. This idea really did capture the imagination of Kent’s school children and their parents and contributed massively to raising new awareness of the Swan at West Malling”.

 

Bob’s Back On (Art) Tour

Following the launch of the high profile and sell out The Drawn Blank Series art tour from Bob Dylan last year, the second phase of signed limited edition graphics from the rock icon and superstar will be released later this summer. WAC has once again been chosen to spearhead the PR campaign. The unseen signed limited edition graphics will be launched nationwide via Castle Fine Art and Castle Galleries from Saturday 26 July.

High Profile Successes for Swan at the Globe

John Burton Race

WAC has helped clients Swan at the Globe - the brasserie on the banks of the Thames in London to three recent high profile successes. First of all, we entered executive chef Keiren Steinborn and successfully got Keiren shortlisted for the final three of the Restaurant Chef Award in the annual Craft Guild of Chefs Awards.

WAC also helped the brasserie to achieve a fantastic review in the London Paper and was on hand for the brasserie appearance on TV in BBC 2’s popular ‘Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is’ which featured John Burton Race. Business Development Manager Carol Dean said. “The brief was to raise the profile of Swan at the Globe through both PR and advertising and they certainly achieved this. I would have no hesitation in recommending WAC.”

PinK Picks WAC

Champion of regional Kentish produce Produced in Kent (PInK) selected WAC to develop its PR strategy. One of the first projects WAC was involved in was the unveiling of the fish trail Soul to Sole -the latest in a series of engaging trails developed by PinK. Held at the Coastguard restaurant near Dover, the launch was a huge success attracting not only a host of press, but two mayors and Gwyn Prosser, MP for Dover and Deal.

On the Fish Trail

Commenting on the appointment, manager of Produced in Kent Julie Monkman said “We selected WAC because they really seemed to understand what our business is all about. They have already come with a number of creative ideas to help raise our profile to the members, stakeholders and communities that we serve and we look forward to working with them. “

Charity Fashion Show Raises Thousands

WAC helped ladies fashion retailer The Find in Sevenoaks and Cranbrook with its charity fashion show in aid of Hospice in the Weald. WAC donated its time to help promote the event (and supplied two of the models!) The result was extensive coverage in regional newspapers and lifestyle magazines and over three thousand pounds raised for charity.
